My name is Alana Terry. I'm the author of The Beloved Daughter.
Which writer inspires you?
I love a lot of the 19th century authors, like Tolstoy and Hugo. I feel like they do an amazing job portraying life in all its ugliness without becoming dark and depressing. There is so much hope and beauty, without anything being glossed over. I really appreciate that about them.
What are you currently working on?
Right now, I’m working on a follow-up novel to The Beloved Daughter. It’s not a sequel, per se, but it follows the story of a minor character we meet in the original and carries her story to completion.
What is your favorite book of the Bible?
I love the Psalms. Isaiah is a close second.
Do you pray over your books?
Yes, perhaps even more than I should! (I only say that because sometimes I think I should be investing more time in prayer for my family and our ministry here, instead of just my writing!)
What do you like to do for fun?
I love my family. My boys are a hoot, and we love being outside in all kinds of weather (except rain for me!). We play a lot of board games and read together when we’re not out and about. I love going on walks to. It’s a great way to clear my mind.
Where can readers find your books?
The Beloved Daughter available from amazon as a paperback as well as an ebook. It was also just released as an audiobook, narrated by four-time Audie award-winner Kathy Garver (Cissee from the TV show Family Affairs).
