But you know what? We are. We aren't without sin, and the very fact that most of the time we think we are is a sin in itself.
Don't believe me, that's fine. Believe God's word, it's in there.
1 John 1:8
If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
It's always easier to point our fingers at the wrong things other people do. Like their lives should meet our standards, and not God's, because after all, we know what's best for not only ourselves, but them also - right?
The truth is...our ways, are not the Lord's ways.
Isaiah 55:8
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD.
We can't see into the future. We don't know what's best, even though we like to think that we do. God's ways are true, right, and holy. Are you following them? Are you living up to God's standards or the world's standards?
Will you let me encourage you to stop pointing fingers at others and take a look into the mirror. What do you really see underneath all those layers that you've covered yourself up with? What you've kept hidden from the world, you haven't kept hidden from God.
Hebrews 4:13
Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
Do you know that He loves you with an everlasting love? Do you know that He'll take what's dark and make it light. Do you know, and really believe that He wants and knows what's best for you?
No?
How much more proof do you need than these words:
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
God loves us dearly, and He wants us to take our eyes off not only each other's faults, but our own. We can't and won't accomplish anything that way. Sooo...what does God want? He wants us to trust Him. He wants us to be helpful. He wants us to be an encouragement. He wants us to pray. He wants us to stop looking at the outward appearance of a person and care enough about their souls to pray for them. You just might, after all, be the only person who does! He wants us to stop being selfish. He wants us to reach out to those in need. He wants us to believe. He wants us to have hope, even when we can't see how anything good can come of the situation. He wants us to love. He wants us to keep going, for our reward is not on this earth, but in heaven. He wants us to be honest. He wants us to stop ripping each other apart and start seeking Him. He wants us to be the light that shines for His Son - Jesus!
Are you doing that? Will you do that? There's still time my friend. Make that change. Let God have your heart and see what happens. There's nothing like it!
