Have you ever heard your precious gift from God utter these very words... to you?
Well, although painful to a momma's heart, it could be a good thing.
How?
It could very well mean that, believe it or not, you might doing something right! Now, I know you might be sitting there shaking your head, wondering how hearing these words could possible mean that. I mean anyone in their right mind would have to disagree, right? What child saying these things could have a good parent?
I'll tell you what kind of a child.
Ready?
A child that:
- has a loving parent
- a child that has a parent that understands
- a child that has a parent that has "been there, done that"
-a child that has a parent that's not afraid to stick to their "yes, and no's"
-a child that, at the time will NOT understand, but as they grow that light bulb will shine brightly above their heads and it will all make sense
- a child that knows their parents what the best for them
- a child that knows they can trust their parents
- a child that will grow to know that they mean more than they thought possible to their "mean mom"
No, you won't see ALL the fruits of your labor of love in their childhood, or teenage years...but as they navigate into adulthood, you'll see it. They'll see it. And all those "mean mom" moments will be worth the hurt and the tears shed because...your once "You're a mean mom!" child - just might replace those words with "You were a great mom, thank you."
You're not alone in the "mean mom" journey, though. (That helps, right? Knowing we're NOT alone) If you want to read a journey of another "mean mom" let me suggest this newest released book by Joanne Kraft. It's available in both paperback and kindle versions on amazon now! (I'll be reading along with ya!)
